The business community learned many lessons from the devastating Gulf Coast hurricanes of 2005. Most important, we learned the tremendous difference we can make when we come together for a common cause. The U.S. private sector contributed an extraordinary $1.2 billion to Gulf Coast recovery efforts. The scale of that response shows that with increased collaboration, more can be done to help residents and communities prepare for, and recover from, the short- and long-term effects of large-scale disasters. more >>
